"Great drinking and an excellent alternative to Sauvignon Blanc!" - Lynnette Hudson.
The Loire Valley is known as the spiritual home of Chenin Blanc, however in recent years South Africa has also started producing some great expressions of the grape. So much so, that now Chenin Blanc makes up the majority of the white wines produced from the region. This 2023 from Van Loveren is a fantastic example of South African Chenin. Its aromatic, filled with fresh fruit like Nashi pear, tart green apples and lemon and has a grippy palate, a result of post-fermentation lees contact.
We suggest trying this alongside spicy fusion dishes, it goes especially well with crispy pork Bao buns, enjoy!
